From November 1, 2021, Thailand officially started welcoming international travelers back to the country. One of the ways for international travelers to enter Thailand is through the Blue Zone Sandbox program, which has been expanded to include more areas across the country. The Blue Zone Sandbox is available for fully vaccinated travelers from any country. These travelers are required to stay in the chosen area for 7 days until being able to travel around Thailand.
Currently, international travelers can join the Blue Zone Sandbox through the following areas:
Bangkok, Buri Ram, Chiang Mai, Chon Buri, Krabi, Loei, Nong Khai, Phang Nga, Phetchaburi, Phuket, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Ranong, Rayong, Samut Prakan, Surat Thani, Trat, Udon Thani.
Travelers who are joining the Blue Zone Sandbox must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 at least 14 days before travel. Furthermore, they are required to have a negative RT-PCR Covid-19 test result within 72 hours before traveling.
Required Documents for Sandbox:
- Passport
- Vaccination Certificate
- Booking of SHA+ hotel through the 7 days period
- Covid-19 insurance with minimum 50,000 USD coverage
- Thai visa if any
